Hi there, we are Tam and Nigel, the co-owners of Planet B.

We lay no claim to our shop being a ‘zero-waste shop’. Frankly there’s no such thing, and those of us who really want to reduce our impact on the planet know we all have to consume a whole lot less. So as shopkeepers we recognise our duty to ensure the goods we stock are, indeed, as environmentally and socially good as we can find. In truth, we love the products we sell, and are especially proud of our ever-growing range of local goods, which you can browse here.

Our commitment to earth-minded living is nothing new. In the Noughties Tam  worked for the Women’s Environmental Network, and later established the UK’s first sustainability network for occupational therapists. In the 80s Nigel completed his PhD in nature writing, and subsequently worked in education for sustainability.

Tam continues to work as an occupational therapist, while Nigel now practises as a psychotherapist. We hope our Fridays and Saturdays in the shop make some contribution to the health and wellbeing of our beautiful planet. We’d love to meet you, so please do pop in to browse and chat  🙂
